Dog days are over

Beka Cooper from the Provost's Dog series. I just read "Terrier" and I liked it. Tamora Pierce creates a nice balance between investigative/detective work, a girl's perspective of maturing, the subtle romance and a thrilling fantasy world. 
Beka intrigues me as a main character, and a guard at that, because she is shy and has a calm demeanor. Pierce writes so many wonderful and varied female characters, her books should be more known around the world. At least in the country I come from.

The guard (Dog) uniform I used as reference is from Minuiko . I hope she won't mind, as I'm not really good at designing clothes...
